Scriptwriter

Duties- Create narrative ideas and concepts to offer to filmmakers. Writing treatments for forthcoming scripts to sell. Creating adaptations of specific mediums to better match the forms of television, cinema or video. Scriptwriters also create genuine speech for each character using multiple voices. 

Salary- The average salary for a scriptwriter is £50,000. 
Skills-  Knowledge of screenwriter- understand all the features of a great screenplay, know how to improve and Amend one. Creativity- write well and innovatively, express your ideas effectively in screenplay form. Arts Knowledge- have a deep and wide knowledge of all genres of art, so as to be able to source ideas from a range of sources and understand the cultural context. Watching Film and TV drama- have a passion for the genre and love for whichever industry you work for. Freelancing- find work opportunities for yourself and manage your finances. 

Qualifications- A levels or Higher in drama and theatre, English, film studies, media studies and psychology are useful. Also, you could take the level 3 vocational qualifications. E.G. BTEC National Extended Diploma in Creative and Digital media.
